Dieudra Calhoun, PsyD, LCDC
Dr. Calhoun is an individual who believes there is immense strength in connecting with others deeply; helping them to actively participate through exploration and reflection of their thoughts, actions and emotions. She provides a therapeutic environment that is empathetic, safe and judgement-free. Her goal is to challenge, empower, and collaborate with her clients as they embark upon the journey to improve their mental and emotional well-being.
Bio
Dr. Dieudra Calhoun is a licensed psychologist who has a rich background in providing therapy to individuals from a multitude of diverse populations. In addition, she is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and has a background as a certified educator. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative and strengths-based, focusing on empowering her clients to build resilience and achieve lasting positive change. Dr. Calhoun’s training has given her the opportunity to work in multiple settings that include pain recovery and management, bariatric group therapy, community behavioral health, child and family therapeutic services and private practice. Her training and experience have provided her the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low
self-esteem, trauma, grief, and other mental health challenges. Her therapeutic approach is
collaborative and strengths-based, focusing on empowering her clients to build resilience and
achieve lasting positive change. Her theoretical orientation is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, as well as incorporating a variety of therapeutic approaches that may better address individual client needs and enhance treatment results.
Dr. Calhoun received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Master of Science degree in Counseling from Jackson State University. She obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Texas School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University.
